The Turtle and the Geese is a fable, most likely of folk origin, early versions of which have been found in both India and Greece. Long ago, near a little pond in the forest, there lived a lot of animals. There were monkeys, birds, squirrels, anteaters, snakes, elephants, frogs, snails, butterflies… There was also a turtle. She was a real chatterbox. She would chatter with all the animals that came to the pond for a drink. She talked so much that she went on the other animals’ nerves
